What is Positive Intelligence (PQ) and why does it matter?

Positive Intelligence (PQ) is a mental fitness assessment and strengthening approach developed by renowned neuroscientist and Stanford alumnus Shirzad Chamine. It provides accessible terminology for exploring our strengths and challenges and tangible, engaging exercises to bolster greater mental fitness.

Our PQ and mental fitness matter because while we cannot control life’s circumstances, we can equip ourselves to be better prepared and poised to handle whatever comes our way.

Life events, especially unforeseen ones such as job losses, illness or injury, relationship problems, or death of a loved one can wreak havoc on our mental well-being. These experiences can feel like a major set-back—or worse— total derailment of our carefully-laid plans. They can disrupt our day-to-day functioning and block our capacity to pursue—or even envision—our hopes, dreams, and goals.  While you cannot always prevent life’s challenges, you can prepare to better handle them—and perhaps even learn to see them as opportunities.

The secret to this is no secret at all, but a learned skill.

Just as you must condition and train your body to accomplish a physical fitness goal (whether it be developing the agility to touch your toes or the strength and endurance to summit a mountaintop) you must condition your mind through regular exercises to fortify your mental fitness.  The 6 week PQ training provides exercises designed to develop mental agility, strength, and endurance that will allow you to achieve your goals and clear life’s hurdles with graceful resilience.

As a personal trainer guides and supports you in accomplishing your athletic goals, I will guide and train you in achieving optimal mental fitness, equipping you to maneuver those life hurdles that may once have tripped you.

I will help you clear the clutter to clarify your vision and give you the tools to see it through.
